I can't bare it any more.

We couldn't take any more cabin fever so we headed out for the great outdoors. Our destination was Barclay Lake and the sheer cliffs of Baring Mountain. It was a well-deserved short early-season hike.

All in all it was a great outing and we're looking forward to many more.

Little Bo Peep

For his birthday, we took Linus to Ewe-Topia, a sheep herding/dog-funhouse. Linus was a little slow with the herding concept. I was encouraged to demonstrate the herding method to him. That's me in the light colored top. As you can see his preadtor instiinct is short-lived, but hopefully he'll learn a thing or two in the end.

Root, root, root for the home team

On Saturday Eric, Bridget and I hopped a bus to downtown for the Seattle Mariners game against the Texas Rangers.
We got to the ballpark well before the first pitch so we headed across the street to the Pyramid Brewery beer garden for some pre-game brew and dogs.

It was then time to head to stadium for the game. The weather was gorgeous with blue skies and sunshine.

Once in our seats we had more brew and indulged ourselves with some garlic fries.

This being the northwest the good weather couldn't last forever. By the fifth inning the rain came, prompting the stadium roof to close and keep us dry.

The Mariners were able to put together an 8 to 3 victory and we left the ballpark happy fans. We decided to walk to Pioneer Square where we stopped by the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for some post-game sweets before heading home.

Oyster, schmoyster

One of the attorneys Bridget works with brought a bunch of fresh oysters to the office today. Bridget brought a bag of them home and though a little intimidated at first, we set about mastering the mollusks. We found a nice recipe in on of our cookbooks and decided to bake those bivalves. Who can tell when an oyster is "done"? We couldn't so we ended up baking the oysters for twice as long as the recipe instructed. Oh, well, they turned out tasting great in the end and shucking them turned out to be easier than anticipated. All in all they were a real treat.

Thank you Knoll!
